Prototypes
Why Start with a Prototype?
A prototype lets you see, click through, and test your app idea before investing in full development. Use it to validate your concept, align your team, or pitch investors with something real instead of a slide deck.

For Entrepreneurs
Need to raise funding?
Investors don’t fund slide decks — they fund products they can see. A clickable prototype gives your pitch something tangible and makes your vision impossible to misunderstand.
Want to validate before you build?
Put your app in front of real users before writing a line of code. Their feedback now saves you months of rework later.
Ready to start selling before launch?
A prototype lets you demo your product, build a waitlist, and start signing up early customers while development is still underway.
Have the idea but not sure what comes next?
A prototype turns your concept into a concrete spec — defined screens, user flows, and requirements — so you know exactly what you’re building and what it will cost.
Prototypes vs. Fully-Functioning Apps
Prototype
- Explain the concept of your application in a visual manner
- Get feedback from investors, users, or even your family as quickly as possible!
- Build demos and marketing for the application before the app is even done!
- Are built in a short amount of time, depending on the number of screens
- Are less expensive and easier to make changes
- Have a limited number of screens
Fully-Functioning App
- Are a full-scale app that can be provided to users
- Are distributed to users via a web address or app store!
- Allow users to sign up, checkout, or complete other functions
- Take a minimum of 2 months, often 4-6 months or more to build
- Cost more and are more difficult to make changes
- Require as many screens as needed for the user to complete tasks
