The groundwork got cheap

How It Works

Seven stages, from the first conversation to ongoing maintenance. Each one notes where the work sped up and where a person still decides.

    Requirements & Design

    We start by learning how the work actually happens today, including the spreadsheet someone maintains by hand and the step that only one person knows. That comes out as wireframes and mockups you can react to, because it is far cheaper to change a drawing than a build.

  2. 02

    Architecture

    We decide what gets built, what gets connected, and what should not exist at all. Most businesses already pay for tools that do part of the job, so the question is usually which pieces to wire together rather than what to write from scratch. This is a judgment call and a person makes it.

  3. 03

    Development

    AI writes a lot of the code now, and that changed the pace rather than the standard. Scaffolding, boilerplate, migrations and test coverage take a fraction of the hours they used to, which leaves more time on the parts that are actually specific to your business. Every change is still reviewed by the developer whose name is on it, and we demo working pieces as they land instead of going quiet.

  4. 04

    Quality Assurance (QA)

    We test against the requirements on real devices and browsers. Automated checks catch the repetitive things quickly and run on every change, which means regressions surface the day they appear rather than the week before launch. A person still walks the app, because a test suite only finds what someone thought to ask it.

  5. 05

    User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

    You test it and tell us where it is wrong. This is the gate that matters most, and no amount of automation replaces the person who knows what the software is supposed to do for the business.

  6. 06

    Launch

    The app is published to the web or the app stores, with monitoring and backups configured before it goes live rather than after the first incident.

  7. 07

    Maintenance

    Someone has to run it. Updates, security patches, platform changes and new features sit with us, and much of the watching is automated so a problem is noticed by a system at 3am rather than by a customer at 9am. When something needs a decision, a person makes it and tells you.
