Specialized Construction Services
Website for an Industrial Contractor
Specialized Construction Services is a self-performing industrial contractor in San Antonio. We built a site around its six service lines, its field experts and its safety record.
Overview
Specialized Construction Services (SCS) is a self-performing industrial contractor based in San Antonio, Texas. Its crews handle industrial construction and maintenance, mining maintenance and field support, field machining, foundations and concrete, fabrication and welding, and industrial electrical work for plants and mines.
In industrial construction, buyers hire people as much as companies. They want to know who will run the job, what that person is certified to do, and how seriously the contractor takes safety. SCS asked us to build a website that shows exactly that. It launched in October 2025.
The Challenge
SCS had grown quickly since its founding in 2020, and its website had not kept up. Six service lines needed room to explain what each one really covers. The unit managers who win work were described in sales PDFs rather than on the site. And safety, the thing SCS leads with in every conversation, needed a home of its own.
The site also had to be easy for SCS to keep current as people, certifications and services change, without rebuilding pages by hand.
What We Built
Design worked out before development
We started with moodboards, then designed the home page in light and dark versions, wireframed every page, and built a clickable prototype of the whole site in Figma. SCS approved the design as a whole before we wrote any code.
A services menu that explains itself
A mega menu where hovering a service changes the tagline, the list of capabilities and the background photo, so a visitor understands each line of business before clicking. A button in the menu goes straight to the sales team.
A page for each service line
A services overview and a detail template used by all six service lines, with expertise tags, a contact card for the operations lead, lists of shop and field capabilities, and related services.
Our Experts, instead of sales PDFs
We turned the unit managers' sales sheets into profile pages: career overview, certification badges and core competencies, with direct phone and email links. Certifications and areas of expertise are shared lists, so adding a certification once makes it available to every profile. Fourteen profiles are live today.
A home page that proves the claims
Animated counters for the company's track record, a rotating strip of customer logos, and a gallery of the crews in the field.
About, Safety and Careers
The company story, a safety page, and a careers page with an application form that accepts resumes and lets applicants choose their specialties. Both forms are protected against spam.
A careful launch
Testing on desktop, tablet and phone across Chrome, Edge and Safari, a record of the old site's pages before the switch, and hosting on managed WordPress behind Cloudflare.
Results
- Six service lines, each with its own page and its own contact, reachable from one menu.
- The people who win SCS's work now have profiles on the site, with their certifications, instead of PDFs sent one at a time.
- One set of service, certification and expertise data drives the menu, service pages and profiles, so SCS updates it once.
- While the site was in its final revisions, SCS asked us to build its bid management app, which launched in 2026.
