New Leaf Homes
Website for a Northeast Ohio Home Builder
New Leaf Homes builds low-maintenance homes for active adults in Northeast Ohio. Working from its designer's files, we built the website buyers use to explore communities and models and book a tour, launched it in November 2024 and have supported it since.
Overview
New Leaf Homes builds low-maintenance luxury homes for active adults in Northeast Ohio, in small communities such as The Retreat at Rosemont in Fairlawn and The Retreat at Cobblestone in Medina. Buyers choose from seven home models, tour a model in person or on their own, and talk to the sales team before they reserve a homesite.
New Leaf's brand, page designs and content were created by its designer. We built the website in WordPress from those designs, connected it to the tools New Leaf's sales team uses, launched it in November 2024 and have supported it since.
The Challenge
A home buyer wants to see the house, the floor plan and the neighborhood before they call anyone. New Leaf needed each model to have its own page with photos, a floor plan and a 3D walkthrough, each community to show what is nearby, and every page to offer a next step: schedule a self-tour, request information or book an appointment.
The designs arrived as Photoshop files and a style guide from an outside designer, the launch date was set for mid-November, and several pieces lived in other systems: self-tour scheduling in UTour, 3D tours in Matterport, an interactive community site plan in Genially, and leads in HubSpot.
What We Built
A site built from the designer's files
We turned the mockups and style guide into a responsive WordPress site on Elementor with a custom child theme: a floating header, page headers that animate in on load, and team and model sections that slide in from the side as the visitor scrolls. We tested it on desktop browsers and on iOS and Android phones and tablets before launch.
A page for every model
Seven model pages share one template, with the model details stored in custom fields so the office can update them without touching the layout. Each page lists bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage and garage size, then shows the floor plan, a photo gallery and a preview image that opens the home's Matterport 3D tour. A quick move-in page uses the same layout for homes that are ready now.
Communities and what is around them
The Communities page has a map of places near the Medina community, filtered by category: shops and boutiques, attractions, restaurants, health and wellness, home services, community resources and more. Each community page embeds its interactive site plan from Genially, links to the models built there and shows community hours.
Every page ends in a next step
A "Let's Chat" block on each page offers a mortgage calculator, a request for information, an appointment or a self-tour. The contact form checks email and phone formats and asks which community the buyer is interested in, and a UTour scheduler on the contact page lets buyers book a self-guided tour. We added the mortgage calculator as a change order late in the build, styled to match the site.
Leads and tracking
Contact form and blog form submissions go to HubSpot and to the sales inbox, with HubSpot tracking, a Meta pixel and Google Analytics through Site Kit. Page titles, meta descriptions and image alt text came from the SEO spreadsheet supplied with the designs, and we moved the existing blog posts into a new Resources section.
Launch and support
We built on a staging site, then moved the site to New Leaf's WP Engine account with caching, error monitoring and email sent through their Office 365 account. Since launch we have fixed form delivery issues, added text-message consent wording for their new phone system, locked down the Google Maps API key, and added a small plugin that keeps the model template's custom-field connections in place, so the office can edit it without breaking the model pages.
