Overview

Brazos Valley Connection is a 58.7 mile electrical transmission line designed to provide power from Harris County to Grimes County, Texas that will help address needed future infrastructure improvements

The Challenge

As part of the project, CenterPoint Energy needed a public website for resources and information related to the project. In addition, they wanted to utilize the NationBuilder platform, which would allow them collect feedback from the public, as well as manage documents and content within the site.

The Solution

  • Created an online resource that included maps and other large files for those affected by the deployment of the transmission line to access and download
  • Integrated maps and other large files on Amazon S3 for easy delivery to the public
  • Developed a custom, mobile-friendly, NationBuilder theme which reflected the branding and message required by CenterPoint energy
  • Created custom widgets, such as a timeline map, which updates status as the transmission line progresses through approvals and development
